Blog 14 Which specimen that we have dissected so far seems most like humans? Why?
The specimen that we have dissected so far that seems most like humans is the frog in my opinion. Its the frog in my opinion because it has more organs like humans than all the other animals that we dissected this year. The frog has 4 limbs like a human. The frog has two eyes a toung and a brain. Some differences in humans and frogs are the skin color,size and where each lives.

There are quite some differences between the frog and the squid. The frog has a vertebrate while the squid has an invertebrate. The frog also contains kidneys, a total of three chambered hearts, lungs, and a total of four limbs. The frog, however can live in the water but it can also live in land. The frog also uses its hind legs to jump while a squid can't even jump. Now we can also compare the color of these two specimen. It is obvious that one animal is green and has black dots; a frog also can feel slimy while a squid's color is gray and soft and slippery.

Blog 13 What was most interesting about this week's dissections?
The most interesting thing in this weeks disection of the squid was EVERYTHING and that we got to eat it. The pen was interesting because it looked like it was a plastic feather which was pretty cool. The eye lens was neat too because it wouldnt break and it looked like a crystal. The beak and the suction cup on the tentacles was also interesting. But it didt beat eating it, even thow it was nastey.

Blog#12 What surprised you from the worm's dissection?
There were two things that surprised me with the worm dissection. One was that it had 5 hearts. The second is how much waste was in the back part of the worm. Those were the only things that surprised me with the worm.

Why is dissection an important part of a biology curriculum? Which animals and/or plants should be included in biological studies?.
Dissection is an important part of biology because it offers hands on experience for the students that take part in it. It promotes the fundamentals of biology and the basic fact that students are allowed to see the insides of an organism and understand further how the organs and such work. To be able to see the internals of an organism is a big part of the study of life because it gives a visual example of how things work inside the life form. Pluse its cool how to see the inside of animals than just see a picture in a book. I believe that the animals and other organisms that we have dissected or are about to are good enough to disect.
